About the Heritance® Handcrafted Series
The Heritance® Hardwood Shutters Handcrafted Series by Hunter Douglas will add the natural elegance of genuine hardwood shutters to your home while bringing a whole new level of artistic beauty to the timeless quality of genuine hardwood shutters. The Handcrafted Series features six designer finishing techniques, which make each product truly one of a kind. You can choose an individual technique or go with a combination of techniques for a truly custom and unique shutter, one that will add talk value to any room.
The first technique is textured, which enhances the wood’s natural grain and creates contrast and depth of the genuine hardwood. You could also choose glazed, which enhances the richness of the stained finish through a hand-rubbed glaze. The glazed and burnished technique creates an antiqued effect—the artisan hand-sands the frame corners and other key areas before applying glaze. With the rustic technique, the naturally occurring characteristics of hardwood are artistically arranged so you will have your own unique shutter. If you choose the heirloom distressed technique, your shutters will have an old-world look through additional techniques such as burnishing, rasping, and flyspecking. Finally, classic distressed gives the wood and stains a beautiful worn appearance with a variety of techniques, including glaze, dents, cracks, and actual wormholes.
