The Trending 2017 Color of the Year
Each year, new colors are tapped as the trend, and people often use them in their own lives, including adding them in large or small amounts to their homes. For 2017, don’t be surprised to see the Pantone Color of the Year making its way into anything from vehicles to clothing to paint colors. If you’re looking for a new color for a room or your whole home, speak with a trained professional at Ross Howard Designs serving the greater Dallas area. We’ll be happy to help you incorporate something new in your décor.
PANTONE Greenery
According to the Pantone Color Institute, which calls itself the “global color authority,” the 2017 Color of the Year, Greenery (15-0343), is reminiscent of the first day of spring. Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, says this yellow-green, snow pea color “is the color of hopefulness and of our connection to nature.” The Institute notes that Greenery is “emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.” From the new leaf green Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster to the flourishing foliage colors used by Gucci and Prada, this color will be everywhere.
Who Picks the Forecasted Each Year and Why?
Twice a year, the Color Marketing Group (the color/trend forecasters and home décor and fashion designers) meet and decide what the colors will be for the next two years. Before they meet, they must study past trends and forecast future ones. Color is not a designer’s whim. Color trends come from where we are, where we want to go, and how people are feeling or not feeling.
