How to Coordinate Horizontal and Vertical Treatments
At Ross Howard Designs here in Dallas, a big concern for many of our customers is how to coordinate a look in a room or home when there are various types of windows—particularly those that call for horizontal and vertical window fashions. Luckily, Hunter Douglas, the leader in window treatment innovations, has solutions at the ready. Speak with one of our trained consultants and read on to learn more.
Ways to Match
It can be challenging to coordinate colors, fabrics, furniture, flooring, and more in a room or home. And choosing window treatments for a room that requires both vertical and horizontal blind can be confusing. That’s where the Hunter Douglas Whole House Solution™ comes in. Within this program, it’s simple to coordinate Hunter Douglas vertical window treatments with their horizontal counterparts in part because some fabrics even share the same names and colors. Basically, Hunter Douglas has designed this program to take the guesswork out of choosing products for your windows. Keep in mind, with The Whole House Solution™, the products do not fully match, but they do coordinate.
See Them in Person
Visit our showroom to see other coordinating fabrics and options. See and operate a full-size vertical Luminette® Privacy Sheer, which can coordinate with Silhouette® Window Shadings and Pirouette® Window Shadings. Both of these horizontal products include sheer fabric similar to the sheer fabric used with the vertical Luminette. You can also operate horizontal Designer Roller Shades and Designer Screen Shades, which share the same fabric as the vertical Skyline® Gliding Window Panels. For a very budget-friendly option, consider Modern Precious Metals®, which coordinate with Somner® Custom Vertical Blinds.
Lift Systems
One of the most overlooked details for new window treatments is the lift system. Hunter Douglas offers a variety of lift systems, from standard manual operations to motorized systems. They all offer pet and child safety, and some offer more. For example, the cream of the crop is PowerView® motorization, a wireless operating system that can be used with a PowerView® Pebble® remote or with your mobile device or tablet, even if you’re not at home. With PowerView, you can set all of the window treatments in your home to open and close at specific times, coordinating the look even farther.
