The Right Window Treatment for the Bedroom
Too often people who don’t get enough sleep complain that it’s because their room isn’t dark enough—which likely means that their window treatment isn’t the right one. The bedroom should be a peaceful retreat where you can get a good night’s sleep, but if your room is too light at night, you might be having some problems. At Ross Howard Designs serving Dallas, we can help. Contact one of our trained specialists today.
Fabrics and Options Make the Difference
Every Hunter Douglas window covering provides some measure of light control, depending on the fabric and color you select, light gaps, seams, and rout holes. Keep in mind that window shades and blinds cannot completely eliminate incoming light as there are inherently slight light gaps. If you want total darkness, choose a window treatment that has “true” blackout materials in the collection. You may want to consider mounting your blinds or shades on the outside of your window frame to minimize the light gap. For wood and aluminum blinds, ask for the de-Light™ feature, which eliminates the rout holes. Semi-opaque and opaque materials almost completely block out the light. We say “almost” because, if you select these fabrics, they do a good job darkening a room, but do not entirely eliminate light. Another option for room-darkening capabilities is to add a liner that is available on many of our shades, including Provenance® Woven Woods, Designer Roller Shades, and Silhouette® Window Fashions.
PowerView® Motorization Is a Great Add-On!
PowerView Motorization allows you to operate and program your shades to open and close when you want—even when you aren’t home. Use the PowerView app on your smartphone or tablet to position your shades exactly where you want them. There is also the PowerView® Pebble®, a modern take on the remote control that has incredible range. No longer for just convenience, it opens a whole new world of functionality, privacy, and safety for your home. To see PowerView in action, click this link:
