Custom Draperies for Child’s Room in Highland Park TX
A young family moved into a very traditional home in Highland Park, TX. They called Ross Howard Designs because they were looking to update the children’s rooms to be more fun and inviting. However, they wanted to stay somewhat traditional to keep with the rest of the homes in the neighborhood. Kathleen, Ross Howard’s Drapery Specialist went out and met with the family. After seeing the rooms and discussing a variety of options, it was decided that custom draperies with blackout lining would be the best choice. Total darkness would allow the children to sleep through the night and at nap time, and when opened allow the sunshine in during playtime.
Two -Tone Draperies
Since “fun and inviting” was key, Kathleen chose two tone draperies with a blackout attached lining. The style was kept simple, so the draperies would not become quickly outdated and allow the children to grow-up with them. Also, the color tones selected would blend nicely with any new décor they might select down the road.

- Custom cornice over floor length white drapery was trimmed with navy
- Custom white Roman blackout shade with two-tone side panels with ring sliders were done in watermelon and almond
- Periwinkle Blue and White two-tone, floor length blackout drapery panels with ring sliders
